Weekend no. 2 not as excited as the first one

One full week at the practical placement and I was very happy that I had half day, so get to start the weekend early. We had plans to meet Jenna and Omkar for some drinks, but I didn't go as I was very tired after the whole week at work in the heat. Friday night was early night for me. As I have said before here is not much to do, so this weekend was quite boring as the other weekends are going to be, so I need to start planning some short trips around Lusaka and Zambia, that I would have something to do.

One thing that I am happy about here that there is not coming water from the tap, is that it will take so much time to have a shower, wash my clothes, because then I have less time to be bored. I know that in weeks all those things will be boring, too. I have been on the water duty on the whole weekend because I wake up much earlier than my flatmates and I don't have anything to do. Now we don't get water in the bathroom, so we to fill in all the water bottles in the kitchen and carry them to the bathroom. Sunday morning it took me an hour to fill in all the bottles and tanks. I kind of like it because I get exercise/weight training at the same time, walking 25m carrying 10L bottles in each hand for about 20-30 times. Remainder to myself: find out about the gym in campus !!!

On Saturday I went walk around the hospital area and took some pictures. First 3 pictures are some hospital buildings. Most of the Saturday I spend doing nothing, reading a book. At the night we went to the party at the Swedish School, there was quite many Swedish people (middle aged). I met there a Swedish psychiatrist that works in the Clinic 6, were I am going to do one week of my mental health clinical practice. He also told us that there are couple Swedish medical students coming in few weeks time, so I might meet them, too.

This is the accommodation buildings, all of the nursing students from the UTH are living here. You can see that there are wall around the place and guards as well. The gates are closed at 9pm by the guards and after that you are not allowed to come in. Us, exchange students, has different rules, we tell the guards that we are going out and tell them when we are expected to come so they will open the gate for us.

This is the nursing school.

On Sunday, I went to the shopping centre to have a look around, (spend time) what kind of clothes they have and how much they are. There was some really nice and cheap dresses, that I didn't buy this time but maybe next weekend I will buy. I walked alone to the shopping centre and it was ok, didn't have any trouble.

This picture I took on my way to the shopping centre. I am so white, so plane foe the next weekend is to work on my tan!! I need to go to the Swedish school then, sunbath and dip in the pool.

When you are driving and stop at the traffic lights, you can buy almost anything from the guys in the middle. They are selling newspapers, fruits, clothes, and prepaid call time for your mobile phone.

Here is a picture for the Warriors. This is a place where I went to have my lunch today as I thought that I need to try the place out. I am a warrior so I need to eat like a warrior, too. The food was really good, so may have to go there sometime again.
